How long does it take to set up a host account with you?

Our accouts have instant activation feature. However due to high fraud activity more often we have to manually verify your payment information. After that we activate your account and it become fully functional. In that case you will receive your login and password no later then 24hours.

Why not offer an "unlimited resource " plan?

We know that some hosts are offering "unlimited bandwidth" and "unlimited web space". But we do not believe any company can truly offer these resources at shared hosting prices with integrity.
Ask yourself a question - how do they survive? They have to pay for servers, bandwidth, server software and got low income? In fact, be very careful when you see a host offering the world for next to nothing. Chances are you will have a bad experience, a lack of support, or one day finding that your account has been sold to the highest bidder.

No, there is no cost. Pointing domains to our Name Servers are included in our hosting pacages.

What is shared hosting with HostingPower? Does each account have it's own dedicated IP address?

There's no need to have dedicated IP. However if you're running E-Commerce site and need one for installing SSL sertificate or for other purposes we may offer it for $24.00 per year.

Do you allow email spamming?

No. It is strictly against our Terms and Conditions Of Service and we do spread knowledge of known spammers to others as well as possible legal action if warranted. Such accounts are shut down without refund.

What is your bandwidth usage policy?

We never turn off our clients because of bandwidth overages. However for each overage incurred by your account we will charge an additional $1 for each 1GB overage. For example, if your bandwidth allotment is 50GB monthly, and in this month your bandwidth is measured at 59GB, you will be charged an additional $9 for your overage.

What is your disk usage policy?

If you are over your limit on disk usage, you will not be able to "write" any new files into the system. However additional disk space may be purchased by you at any time.

Billing FAQ

Which methods of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (such us Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover), Paypal and wire transfers.

What is your renewal procedure?

All HostingPower packages and domain names renew automatically. First time depends of your subscription you will be billed for 3, 6, 12 or 24 month then your subscription will renew on the anniversary date of your sign up on a quarterly basis. Reseller packages are billed monthly

What is the HostingPower's Refund Policy?

Each of HostingPower's shared web hosting plan carries a 30-day money back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with our services within the first 30 days of your contract, you will be given a full refund of the prepaid hosting charges excluding any setup surcharges.

How do I cancel my HostingPower account?

HostingPower processes cancellations via fax, or with our online ticket system. Accounts need to be canceled before 3 days the first service day to not be billed for that period. Phone requests will not constitute acceptance of any cancellation. Login to your Admin acoount and file a ticket with the cancelation request or request a fax form.

What happens if my credit card is declined?

Your subscription renews automatically and is charged to the credit card you have provided. If your credit card is declined, you will receive an automatic email from our billing system to alert you to this problem. From this time you will have 10 days in which to provide a credit card that may be processed. When the 10 days have expired, your account will be suspended until payment is received. A late fee of $15.00 will be charged to your account to reactivate any suspended subscriptions. If you fail to provide payment within 1 month from your account suspension date, your account will be cancelled.

What operating system is used to host web sites?

We use Linux 2.6.8-2-k7 also known as Linux Sarge customized with security patches, Apache/2.0.54, Perl version 5.008007

Why can't I send emails?

To prevent SPAM, our sendmail servers require authorization. If you are using Outlook Express or Outlook, when you configure your email account, check the box "my server requires authorization." under Outgoing Mail Server. If you are using any other type of email reader, please check your software manual.

Can I run my own scripts?

Absolytely, this is what hosting account needs for. The web server supports PHP, CGI, Perl, gcc compiler. If you need to run C++ or others that require custom installation plese contact our support team.

How do I access the Admin Control Panel?

You can access the your control panel through your own domain name once its been transferred by entering this link on your web browser: http//yourdomain:2222/
If you need immediate access to your admin account use http://72.36.146.34:2222 and login with username and password that can be found on your account setup confirmation email.

How do I upload my web pages and where?

You will need to use a program for FTP file transfering. Using the FTP program you can connect to your server's IP address or your own domain. Place your documents in the "public_html" folder.

How do I change my Control Panel password?

Login to your Control Panel, General information > Change password, fill in your new password and click on Update Password button.

How do I publish my web site?

You will need an FTP program to publish your web site, or a web site editor such as Front Page or DreamWeaver. To upload files to your server you can enter your domain name on the FTP address field. The username & password for your FTP account were provided to you on your domain confirmation email.

How do I configure my Email Program?

If you are our customer your email program must be configured to authenticate on the Outgoing mail server. If you are using Outlook Express this can be done by checking the box "my server requires authorization." under Outgoing Mail Server found in the "Server" tab. Once this is completed you should be able to send and receive email normally. If you have any problems configuring your email client please open up a ticket in your Control Panel, we will be happy to help you configure your email reader.
